The full disc profile was developed with aerodynamics as the singular focus, presenting a completely uninterrupted surface to the air — a dramatic reduction in drag and turbulence compared to a traditional spoked wheel. The hooked rim design features a modern 20.8mm internal width and 28mm external width, ensuring compatibility with a broad range of tubeless and clincher tires while maintaining smooth transitions from tire to rim.
At the core of the RS-D is a PMI structural foam core, sandwiched between full carbon fiber skins — an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio that traditional disc wheel construction can't match. The closed-cell foam core adds significant structural depth and lateral stiffness while keeping overall weight at 1,230 grams, so power transfer through hard efforts and out-of-saddle accelerations stays crisp and direct.
