The Aquila EVO R Gen 3 is the product of everything we've learned — from the wind tunnel, the road, and the riders who push our bikes to their limits. Mono-Mold construction eliminates the bonded joints of conventional carbon manufacturing, delivering a frame with superior structural integrity and a fighting weight of just 700g in a size medium with paint.
Refined CFD analysis guided a narrower, more aerodynamically intelligent tube profile. The fork blades open wider, managing airflow through one of the most critical zones of the frame. Every detail has been tightened, every gram questioned.
Three generations in. This is the EVO R at its finest.

Mono-Mold Technology

Mono-Mold Technology

Compared to traditional carbon frame manufacturing processes. Where the construction of the frame comprises of 2-3 separate sections which are molded separately and then bonded together. We construct our frame using Mono-Mold technology. A true one-piece mold to produce the frame. The entire frame is formed as a single unit, eliminating the need for subsequent adhesive bonding of individual tubes. The key advantages of this approach is superior structural integrity, greater resistance to stress and fracturing, and a lighter, more reactive frame.
Reduced Weight

Reduced Weight

Omission of adhesives and connectors and a purer material composition typically reduce frame weight by tens to hundreds of grams compared to tube-to-tube construction. In a size medium the previous generation EVO R tips the scales at 890 grams. The new EVO R trims down to a fighting weight of 700 grams with paint in the equivalent size.

In order to push the Evolution of the EVO R, we had to dig back into the details. Through further CFD analysis, we started to pinpoint where the peak of aerodynamics lie at the common yaw angles that a bike is exposed to. At those points we started to round off, and reduce the size of the tube shapes of the frame to facilitate aerodynamic optimization. Furthermore we opened the distance between the blades of the front fork by 1cm on each side, increasing air flow through a critical area of the frame. Its like hiding from the wind…

After spending some time riding the new Aquila Equipe Evo R, I came away genuinely impressed. As someone who currently rides the previous-generation Equipe Evo R, I had a current ride to compare against. The new bike feels like a large step forward.

The first thing that stands out is the stiffness and responsiveness the frame has. It has that immediate, direct feeling when you put power through the pedals, but without becoming harsh.

Despite the stiffness, there’s a surprising amount of compliance built into the ride, which makes a very noticeable difference once you’re spending several hours in the saddle.

The new Evo R is seriously light, and you can tell that almost immediately on a climb. The bike seems to accelerate effortlessly uphill, and it’s the kind of frame that makes you want to keep pushing whenever the road heads upwards.

Not until a couple hundred kilometers in, did I realize was how comfortable it is over long distances. I put in multiple rides of 130km+ during the time I rode the bike and never felt like the bike was beating me up. It manages to strike a really nice balance between being stiff and efficient when you’re putting down power, while still being comfortable and compliant enough for long days on the road.

Coming from the Equipe Evo R Gen 2, the new Evo R feels less like a completely different bike and more like a refinement of something that was already very good. It’s light, incredibly responsive, climbs exceptionally well, and doesn’t sacrifice comfort while chasing performance.

After around 2 weeks of riding it and racing it, I’d be very happy to make the Equipe Evo R Gen 3 my new go-to bike.
