FLAT MOUNT HYDRAULIC DISC BRAKES
For the first time, the Aquila Corsa receives a massive boost in the stopping department. Equipped with flat mount hydraulic disc brakes, paired with 12mm thru axles to harness the torsional load, and the stopping power of the hydraulic brakes.
The previous generation Equipe was a prime example of a bike that is tremendously balanced. It is very light, predictably responsive, had deceiving torsional rigidity and exuded comfort. This combination made for a very purposeful race machine.
Over the past 5 years, bikes have changed at a rapid rate. The advancements that we see today amongst many of the bikes warranted a revision to the Equipe platform. However, we weren’t looking to reinvent the wheel. We were looking to make it better.
12MM THRU-AXLES
With the introduction of disc brakes to the Aquila Corsa, they have been paired with 12mm aluminum Thru-axles, which increases the rigidity of the wheel and frame frame interface and allow more accurate wheel placement. The result is greater torsion rigidity, safety and improved operation of the braking system.
WIDER TIRES
Historically the Aquila Corsa models were limited to a max tire size of 25mm. The all new Aquila Corsa has the ability to run up to a 32mm tire, which results in a smoother, more comfortable ride, with maximum on-road traction.
