The CHPT3 x Aquila Ka.dre team is a collection of cyclists that aspire to contribute to the evolution of a more modernized culture around the sport of cycling. The team hopes to inspire a new wave of riders, and break the stigma of cycling being rigid and exclusive. Through its collaboration with CHPT3 and Aquila, Ka.dre is helping the brands promote a new era of cycling while still paying homage to cycling’s classic roots, and rich history.
You will find members of the team active in the cycling community locally and globally. This includes participating in different races and events and charitable initiatives.
The members of the CHPT3 x Aquila crew come from a variety of backgrounds and interests when it comes to riding. Each one of them has their own story and philosophy about what cycling means to them but they all share an open-minded approach to contributing to the cycling community. These unique characteristics are core to the team and serve as the foundation for future members as we continue to evolve. As ambassadors for CHPT3 and Aquila Cycles, they also endorse and test apparel and equipment to help the brands continue to improve and innovate, building off the input from those who use the products.
Ka.dre members are currently testing the new Equipe EVO model, which will be available in a limited “R” version. What differentiates it from the current Equipe EVO model is a unique blend of higher tensile Torayca carbon from Japan, which results in a lighter more agile frame. Further, a revised head tube, front fork, and rear seat stay design, improve the aerodynamic efficiency of the frame. The crown of the front fork, and rear seat stay junction have been widened by .5 cm on either side to allow air to pass through the front fork and exhaust through the rear seat stays. Instead of trying to manipulate air as it travels, we engineered it to pass through the frame undisrupted making the bike more aerodynamic and more predictable in a multitude of different wind conditions. The slight wedge shape on the frontal area of the head tube acts as a diverter helping to guide air in a more laminar fashion across the horizontal plane of the frame. We developed many of these changes to the model through the use of CFD software.
